The 2023 European Cycling Championships are sponsored by Resato Hydrogen Technology. This European cycling event will take place this year in the province of Drenthe. By sponsoring the road cycling event at the European top level, Resato Hydrogen Technology will be fully visible. On the one hand with the general public, on the other hand with business relations who get the opportunity to attend the sporting event.
Col du VAM makes for an iconic location for celebrating the cycling championships. Rooted in the ambition to make it a truly Drents event, the riders pass through as many locations in Drenthe as possible – enabling towns and villages to organise and celebrate their own cycling festival. The programme allows the riders to pass through iconic locations which are important to Drenthe, such as the Drents Museum, the Hunebed Centre, Camp Westerbork and Wildlands Adventure Zoo. The European Cycling Championships usually take place in August.
What’s unique about the 2023 European Cycling Championships is that they take place on the intended date of the World Championships in September, which has a different date this year. During the 2023 European Cycling Championships, Col du VAM will occupy a crucial spot as the finish location for the road races. The ascents are the main obstacle during the final round of the road races. During the 2021 Dutch Cycling Championships and the European Cyclocross Championships, cycling fans became acquainted with this unique location with its twisting route, steep ascents and challenging cobblestone strip. The different competition categories start from various towns and villages in Drenthe. With a unique start from Wildlands Adventure Zoo, Emmen plays a central role in the time trials.
